This quick update is to let you know about two events we have heard about in the next couple of weeks.
On Sunday, July 9th, Ontario-style fiddler Pierre Schryer is playing at the Tranzac Club, along with Dermot Byrne and Adam Dobres. Their group is called 3TíR. I can’t find the price posted anywhere, but I assume it’s in the $20 range. You can see them on video from their facebook page.
Remember, Tranzac Club members (only $30 for a whole year) often receive discounts on admission.
These gentlemen will also be at the Goderich Celtic Roots festival, and the Celtic College that precedes it, along with many fine musicians, dancers, singers and artists of all Celtic persuasions.
Also, Elizabeth told us about a free concert with Le Vent du nord at Harbourfront on July 21. The show starts at 9:30, but she suggests we get there early to get seats.
Friends of Mr. Steve Cooper will celebrating his much-earned retirement this evening with music, song and community. If you can’t make it, feel free to make a donation in his name to his favourite charity, Alpha Alternative School here in Toronto, which was lucky enough to have him work there for many years. See you there!
And, of course, your calendars are already marked for the July session on the 16th.
If you hear of anything else, let us know and we’ll pass the word.
