A reminder that the shortest month of the year is punctuated by a session starting at noon at the Tranzac Club in Toronto, running until 2 p.m. The sun is out, but cold still grips the land. Let’s gather and share our favourite tunes, and maybe find some new favourites to learn! Lead a song, or suggest one that you want to learn. Session: Sunday, December 18th, 2022

A quick reminder about our upcoming session, from noon to 2 pm at the Tranzac Club this coming Sunday. December is here, and the Tranzac will be hopping with the Tranzac Holiday Gift Fair offering original gifts by local artist, so expect a larger-than-average population of curious passers-by. This also means it will be a bit tougher to park than usual, so plan for a bit of extra time if you are driving in. Despite the crowds, it will still be worth it to come out and share the joy that is built into every Quebecois tune. Every musical phrase Read More …

Session: Sunday, November 20, 2022

A quick reminder about our upcoming session, from noon to 2 pm at the Tranzac Club this coming Sunday. As happens every year during our November session, the annual Santa Clause Parade will make our life exciting this weekend, so pack your patience and your Seasonal Cheer. Also, please remember to plan ahead in case you have to take Evasive Manoeuvres. The 188th parade itself starts at Christie Pits around 12:30 p.m. It may be possible to cross the street before the session but, because of our shorter session length, getting back could be a challenge. Of course, we could Read More …

Well, fall is here, and the heat has left us for the time being, though I’m sure we are not done yet with its oppressive presence. Let us glory in the cool breezes and sunshine while sharing some of our favourite tunes! This month’s session will happen Sunday, at its regularly scheduled time (noon to 2PM) and place (Tranzac Club, Brunswick and Bloor in Toronto). The session will happen this Sunday at its (new) regularly scheduled time (noon to 2PM) and place (Tranzac Club, Brunswick and Bloor in Toronto). It’s summer and the sun is shining and the breeze is blowing. Though many are off at festivals and cottages and camps, there are those of us who are not willing to go without our quebecois music for the month. Donna and I are just back from Mariposa but still have a hankering for the session, so it will happen this Sunday at its (new) regularly scheduled time (noon to 2PM) and place (Tranzac Club, Brunswick and Bloor in Toronto). The Tranzac is still enacting a COVID policy to help protect each other, our families and communities from the spread of this Read More …
