Session reminder: August 20, 2017

A quick reminder about the session this weekend, from noon to 2:45 pm at the Tranzac Club. This week’s session might be sparsely attended, as Rob and Donna are off to the Festival violon traditionnel Sutton, Pascal’s festival in the Eastern Townships. (You can follow this festival vicariously, through their facebook page.) It’s also an AlgomaTrad week, for those lucky enough to get up there… So, we hope you can soldier on without us this week, and we’ll be looking forward to joining you in September, on the 17th. Rob and Donna

July session and other events

There is indeed a session this coming Sunday, as usual from noon to 2:45 pm at the Tranzac Club. See you all there! That said, this is a busy time for lovers of Quebecois music! Hope some of you made it to the Pierre Schryer concert on July 9th. We certainly enjoyed De temps antan at the Mariposa Folk Festival in Orillia that same weekend! Mark your calendars for one or two of these: Friday, July 21, free concert with Le vent du nord (thank you, Elizabeth!). The show starts at 9:30, but get there early to find seats. From Read More …

Session: Sunday, June 18

Yes, there is a session tomorrow. See you all between noon and 3 pm. If you have ever been lucky enough to attend an AlgomaTrad event (family camp, dance, travelling concert, music or dance workshop, or concert by the O’Shraves  or the Brian Pickell Band), please take a moment to answer a very short, multiple choice online survey. They will use the responses they get when applying for funding to offer more of their engaging and culturally important events and activities. Next weekend (June 23-24) in Hamilton, the annual FrancoFEST “gets Hamilton rocking… in French!”. We are eager to listen Read More …

Reminder Session on Sunday

Spring is back, and with it, the return of the TOQueTrad session to it’s regular time.  This Sunday, at the Tranzac Club, at 12:00 PM, we look forward to seeing you all at the regular session.  (Session details) What a wonderful way to spend part of the long weekend.  If you’re not out at the cottage, come play some tunes!  Hope to see you there.

Change in time for April 16th session, and other stuff

Michael from Alaniaris (the band that plays after our regular Sunday session) has asked us to switch slots with them for the April session. This means that the TOQueTrad session on Sunday, April 16, will begin at 2:00 p.m. and run until 5 p.m.  This session is the only one that will be affected. Rob and Donna will be out of town for this session, as well, so we would need a volunteer host. Please email us if you would like to assume this awesome responsibility. This weekend is the annual Spring Thaw dance weekend at St. Barnabas church at Read More …
