Welcome to the first of the Coronavirus series of tune instructions here at ToqueTrad. We decided to pick some tunes that we loved, but weren’t necessarily the most played and were deserving of some instruction opportunities.
The first on our list is a tune from the Repertoire of Louis “Pitou” Boudreault, from Chicoutimi in the Saguenay region of Quebec.
Below we will embed two videos; one at speed and one slowed down a little bit and with double stops removed for your learning pleasure. Use the Youtube video speed option to slow down even more.
In the slow version, our dog, Laddie, is spending most of the second run-through padding back and forth, stealing laundry.
The transcription below is not “the way” to play this tune but rather “a way” to play the tune. Use it in good health.
Feel free to let us know in the comments what you think about this tune, this format, and if you have any requests for future tunes to cover in the same manner.
Please consider making a donation to our regular venue, the Tranzac Club. Like many nonprofit arts organizations, they are suffering under a lack of revenue imposed by social distancing.
Stay well and stay sane!
